Terms of Service

CourtDocs is a technology platform. It stores documents, connects consumers with independent attorneys and provides a workspace for managing a matter. CourtDocs does not practise law and does not provide legal advice.

Using CourtDocs, submitting an intake, or communicating with an attorney through the platform does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship. That relationship begins only when you and a firm execute an engagement agreement.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for enabling multi-factor authentication. Attorneys and platform administrators are required to use multi-factor authentication.

You may manage your active devices and sessions from Settings, and you should revoke any device you no longer control.

You retain ownership of everything you upload. CourtDocs stores and processes your documents solely to provide the service — storage, search, scanning, sharing you have authorised, and the audit trail.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, and for not using the platform to store unlawful material.

Attorneys and firms participating in the marketplace are independent. CourtDocs does not supervise their legal work, guarantee outcomes, or endorse any particular firm.

Firms pay CourtDocs for marketplace access. Consumers do not pay CourtDocs to be matched with an attorney.

Two payment flows exist and are kept separate. Subscription payments to CourtDocs are ordinary SaaS billing, tokenised by a payment provider; CourtDocs does not store raw card numbers.

Payments you make to a law firm for legal services are between you and that firm. Retainers, trust and IOLTA funds, settlement proceeds and advanced fees carry their own regulatory requirements and are not treated as marketplace transactions.

CourtDocs aims for high availability with multi-zone infrastructure, automated backups and a documented disaster recovery plan, but the service is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted access.

Court dates, filing deadlines and limitation periods remain your responsibility and that of your attorney. Reminders are a convenience, not a substitute for legal diligence.

This page is part of a design prototype. It illustrates the intended terms structure for CourtDocs and is not a binding agreement. Production terms would be prepared with qualified counsel.
